International Music Festival (BIM) has traditionally been organized in Bydgoszcz since 1977 for children and youth from all over the world. From the beginning it has been organized by The Youth Centre “Pałac Młodzieży” in cooperation with The Association of Friends of the Pałac Młodzieży in Bydgoszcz “PAŁAC”.
Dance, vocal and instrumental groups have an opportunity to show their musical talents and artistic achievements in a beautiful, vintage scenery of our city. Every Festival is accompanied by a competition for The Golden String Statuette. During the BIM young artists participate in art workshops led by outstanding professionals.
BIM is not only concerts and presentations. It is also integration of young people from all over the world. It is a space to learn about the cultures and traditions of various nations, an opportunity to build international contacts and beautiful friendships. Moreover, our young guests can count on a number of additional attractions and they have an opportunity to learn about the history of Bydgoszcz and environs.
In the past we hosted many European groups from: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, France, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the Ukraine, and of course Poland. We had also an opportunity to admire groups from other continents, e.g. Brasil, China, India, Mexico, the Republic of South Africa, Singapore, and the U S.
